The 10th anniversary of ICF
|
Dear Dr. Chodiev!
Please accept my warm congratulations with the 10th anniversary of the Foundation! I wish you the best in further expanding one of the most successful initiatives in the social sphere. The International Chodiev Foundation can become an important example of everyday business-education collaboration in it’s most tactful form. I am convinced that at the base of that success lies your personal qualities as an individual, entrepreneur, and an alumnus of MGIMO.
The students and the faculty at MGIMO – one of the main “beneficiaries” of the Foundation – truly appreciate the support you provide to the research and educational programs. Our relationship is productive because of a strong emphasis on longevity and stability, creative approaches to collaboration scenarios, and the ability to trust one another. Thanks to the work of the Foundation, your name became well-known among the partners of the University worldwide.
I hope that this anniversary is just the first milestone in the years of work ahead for the Foundation. Our University will continue to be your reliable partner.
Respectfully,
Rector of Moscow State Institute of International Relations (University) of the MFA,
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation,
Corresponding member of Russian Academy of Sciences A. V. Torkunov

Dear Dr. Chodiev!
Ten years have already passed since your Foundation got involved in the most noble causes of all: helping the disadvantaged, giving people hope, and strengthening the ideals of compassion and justice.
One could say, “Ten years? That’s not that long of a time.” But after getting to know you, we can imagine how many wonderful things and good deeds were done during those years… know the generosity of your spirit and the warmth of your heart. In recent years, the progress of the children’s rehabilitation center activity has been connected to your name.
Here, fifteen thousand sick children from different countries received medical and social assistance, and got the opportunity to study at a state-of –the-art computer center, all free of charge.
Only thanks to you, were we able to open а psychological help center for parents of disabled children. We also started building dormitories for our out-of-town clients for the duration of their treatment.
Our dear Friend, thank you for the first smiles on the faces of our little patients, for dried tears on the faces of their parents and for your great, unselfish service to the people!
Wishing you and your Foundation happiness, success and prosperity.
With love and regards from the staff of the Children’s Rehabilitation Center,
Boris Litvak

For me, admission to MGIMO-University began with participation in a TV show – an intellectual competition “Umnitsy I Umniki” (“The Brainiacs”). In 2000, I got accepted to the School of International Law at MGIMO-University. In 2001, I was chosen to receive the ICF scholarship, and for the next three years, I was in its full tutelage. In the summers of 2002 and 2003, thanks to the initiative of Dr. Chodiev, the President of ICF, I went to London to study English and law, together with other recipients of the ICF scholarship. During these internships, I was able to acquire spoken English skills, and get acquainted with British law in theory and practice. Later, this knowledge became valuable in my job search. I would like to wish the Foundation а happy ten-year anniversary, and thank Dr. Chodiev one more time for the tremendous support that ICF provided me with during my studies at MGIMO-University.
Wishing you success in your noble work,
Sergey Tsybdenov

I first heard about the International Chodiev Foundation back in 1998. But it wasn’t until two years later that I was among the few students of the School of International Law to be honored with the ICF scholarship for having successfully completed three semesters in a row. I received the scholarship for two years. I was also fortunate to participate in the language programs in London. In 2001, Dr. Chodiev found time to meet with the scholarship recipients in order to talk about the program. I remember that we were amazed at the extent of attention that such a busy person paid to us. Besides his main work, he is the head of the Global Foundation for Democracy. The language programs helped me successfully pass the selection committee organized by MGIMO-University and the International Relations Department of the State Duma of the Russian Federation. As a result, I got a position of an associate at the International Secretariat of OSCE in Copenhagen, where I served for one year upon completion of my undergraduate studies.
But the role of the Foundation wasn’t limited to giving scholarships, and organizing interesting and useful study-abroad programs, which, I must admit, were very helpful. The Foundation was our “leader” during our research and public work at MGIMO-University. It rejoiced in our successes, and provided support in moments of difficulty. The Foundation was the place where you could come with original ideas, knowing that you’d be heard. And of course, it was with the help of the Foundation that I was lucky to have met many bright individuals from the School of International Law. Many of them went on to become successful lawyers and diplomats. I still keep in touch with many alumni within the walls of our beloved alma mater. With some of them I work successfully together.
To conclude, I would like to wish the Foundation a happy anniversary, wish its leadership the best in continuing to foster the intellectual potential of MGIMO-University, and wish MGIMO students the best. I would also like to express hope that the family of the “Chodiev scholars”continues to grow stronger.
Best wishes,
Aleksej Orekhov,
